February 27, 2010 - IHMSA Match Report
The 17 Shooters braved the mud today. While I think nearly everyone enjoyed the day, I am pretty sure everyone was glad to get out of the mud and back into their warm cars and head for home. The mud and cool temps were no fun – but if you remember last February, yesterday was just fine.
Some of us were just playing around and knocking the rust off as you might suspect but looking at the scores it is clear that most of the usual category leaders lost nothing over the winter. The best performance of the day goes to Jack Wade who didn’t fire a round all day. Jack’s back was killing him but he was doing his best to sure the rest of us had a good day even if his was not. Outstanding job! Thanks Jack.
I want to start the year off by recognizing my wife, Linda, there in the stat shack. I told her she could take the day off, figuring that the mud and lack of an indoor toilet was just too much to ask of a woman who doesn’t shoot our sport. She declined of course. Thanks Linda for your work, the food and drink, and the pleasant way you lighten our load.
Thanks to all of you who came today. I look forward to seeing even more folks and more guns next month. John
